Referral partner program

Your network is sitting on idle code worth $100K+. Refer it, earn 15%.

Agencies, founders, and companies are sitting on idle code that AI labs pay real money to license. Introduce them to Pangea, and you earn 15% of everything the people you refer make, paid again and again, every time their code is re-licensed. No cost to you, no cost to them. Just share your links.

Proof it works

$600K has already been paid to code owners. Referrers would have earned 15% of all of it.

Every figure below is real licensed revenue. Because licences are non-exclusive, it keeps growing, and so does the 15% behind it.

These payouts already happened. Anyone who had referred those code owners would have earned 15% of what the owners were paid, and would keep earning every time the same codebases are licensed again.

The deal

You earn 15% of what the code owner is paid, for as long as it sells.

15%
of what the code owner earns on every codebase they license through your referral.
Recurring, with no cap. Licences are non-exclusive, so you’re paid every single time a referred codebase is licensed or sold.

The people you refer are paid roughly $100 for every 1M tokens of source code and $40 for every 1M tokens of git history. You earn 15% of whatever they earn, on every deal, for as long as it keeps selling. You’re paid within 15 days of the fees being paid out, into the account you set up. It costs you nothing to join, and nothing comes out of what the code owner takes home.

Who you can refer

Two kinds of code owner. Two links to share.

You get two distinct tracked links, one for each track, so you can send the right one to the right audience. Anyone who owns real, production source code and its git history can license it, and you earn on all of it.

Track 1

Dev agencies

Software agencies sit on years of delivered projects, R&D, and internal tools that go idle the moment an engagement ends. That code, and its full commit history, is exactly what frontier AI labs pay to license.

  • They license only repos they own and choose. Client work and NDAs stay out.
  • They keep full ownership and internal use.
  • You earn on every repo they license, recurringly.
Track 2

Individuals & companies

Freelancers, founders of wound-down startups, fractional CTOs, and companies with internal tools all own code sitting idle. A dead project or a shelved internal tool can still pay, and you’re paid for connecting them.

  • Wound-down ventures, side projects, and internal R&D all qualify.
  • They redact anything sensitive before submitting.
  • Same 15%, same recurring payout, on every codebase.

What could your referrals be worth to you?

A quick, illustrative ballpark of your recurring earnings: 15% of what the code owners you refer are paid. Real figures depend on each codebase and buyer demand.

How it works

Three steps. All you do is share a link.

1

Request your links

Apply below and agree to the partner terms. We issue you two tracked referral links, one per track, usually within minutes.

2

Share them

Send them however you like: email, DMs, socials, your newsletter, your community. Anyone who joins the licensing program through your link is attributed to you.

3

Get paid, repeatedly

When a referred codebase is licensed, you earn 15% of what the code owner is paid, within 15 days of the fees being paid out, and again on every future re-license.

One fairness rule: once someone signs up through your link, Pangea has 10 business days to flag any pre-existing relationship. If nothing is flagged, the referral is conclusively yours.

Answers

Everything partners ask us first.

How do I share my referral links?+
However you like. You get two unique tracked links, one for dev agencies and one for individuals & companies. Drop them in emails, DMs, social posts, your newsletter, Slack or Discord communities, anywhere your audience is. Everyone who joins the program through your link is automatically attributed to you.
How is a referral attributed to me?+
Through your referral link. Make sure the people you refer sign up using your link, that’s what ties them to you, and there’s no separate tracker to maintain. A code owner is “yours” if they first engage the program through your link and weren’t already an active Pangea customer or in the documented pipeline before you referred them. If you’re ever unsure whether someone will be attributed to you, email our team at jazlin@pangea.ai before they sign up.
What’s the 10-day flagging rule?+
Once someone signs up through your link, Pangea has 10 business days to flag a pre-existing relationship or documented pipeline entry. If we don’t flag it in that window, the referral is conclusively yours, absent fraud. It keeps attribution fair on both sides.
How much do I earn, exactly?+
15% of whatever the people you refer are paid, on every deal. As a rough basis, code owners are paid about $100 per 1M tokens of source code and $40 per 1M tokens of git history. The code owner keeps their full share; your 15% is paid on top and doesn’t come out of their pocket.
Is it really recurring?+
Yes. Licences are non-exclusive, so the same codebase can be licensed again and again. You’re paid on every transaction for a referred codebase, not just the first, with no cap on how many times.
When and how do I get paid?+
You’re paid within 15 days of the referral fees being paid out, in USD, into the payout account you set up. Fees are only ever paid out of amounts actually collected, but every collected deal on a referred codebase pays you.
Does it cost anything, for me or the people I refer?+
No. It’s free to become a partner, free to share your links, and nothing is deducted from what the code owner takes home. Your 15% is paid on top.
What can be referred?+
Any real, owned source code plus its git history: agency projects and R&D, internal tools, side projects, and code from wound-down startups. The code owner only submits repos they fully own, and can redact anything sensitive first.

Referral Partner Terms +

Summary of the terms you agree to as a Pangea referral partner. These mirror Pangea’s upstream codebase-licensing agreement and apply only to codebase licensing referrals. ⇩ Download the full agreement (PDF)

1. Referral fee

For each codebase transaction (a licence or sale of a codebase, exclusive or non-exclusive) involving a code owner you referred, Pangea pays you 15% of the amount the referred code owner is paid for that transaction. The code owner’s share is unaffected and nothing is deducted from it.

2. Recurring

The fee is not one-time. It is earned on every codebase transaction for a referred codebase, with no cap on how many times a codebase is licensed or sold.

3. Paid only when the deal is paid

A referral fee becomes payable only after, and solely to the extent of, amounts actually received for the transaction, and is paid within 15 days of the fees being paid out. If a payment is refunded, reversed, or charged back, the corresponding amount may be offset against future fees. You will never be owed more than what is actually collected.

4. Attribution & tracking

You receive two unique referral links (one per track) and codes. Attribution is by link only; there is no shared tracker to maintain. A code owner is a “referred code owner” if they first engage the program through your link, and were not already an active Pangea customer or in the documented pipeline before the referral. If you are unsure whether a code owner will be attributed to you, contact jazlin@pangea.ai before they sign up.

5. 10-business-day flag; deemed attribution

When a code owner signs up through your link, Pangea has 10 business days to object on reasonable grounds (an existing relationship or a documented pipeline entry). If Pangea does not object within that period, the code owner is conclusively deemed your referral, absent fraud. In the unlikely event a pre-existing relationship, or a prior referral by another partner, is missed within that period, Section 6 (prior relationships; no double payment) supersedes this and determines the eligible referrer.

6. Prior relationships; no double payment

No fee is owed for a code owner who, before your referral, was already an active customer, in the documented pipeline, or in an active documented licensing discussion. Only one referral fee is paid per transaction. Where two partners refer the same code owner, the partner who referred first by date, as recorded, is the eligible referrer.

7. Lapse

Attribution through your link lapses if the code owner has not engaged the program within 6 months of first using it; attribution resumes if they return through your link.

8. Conduct

You will refer in good faith and make no representations about Pangea, pricing, valuations, or outcomes beyond materials Pangea provides or approves. Codebase value estimates are illustrative only and not guaranteed payouts.

9. Independent parties

You and Pangea are independent contractors. Nothing here creates a partnership, agency, or employment relationship, and neither party may bind the other.

10. Term & survival

Either party may end the arrangement on 30 days’ notice. Your right to recurring fees on codebases of code owners you referred during the term survives termination and remains payable on the “only when the deal is paid” basis.

11. Confidentiality

You will keep non-public information (referred code owner identities, figures, statements, and these terms) confidential and use it only to verify and collect your fees.

12. Acceptance

No signature is required. By ticking the box below, you accept and are legally bound by the Referral Partner Agreement, with the same effect as a signature.

This is a plain-language summary for onboarding. The full Referral Partner Agreement, which you accept by ticking the box, governs and controls in the event of any conflict. Governing law and venue are set out in the full agreement.

We’ll only use your details to set you up as a partner and follow up on this program.
